Go on.
Hate me for being able to resist temptations that many cannot.
French fries...Munchkins...Frappuccinos...George Clooney...any of the 'itos.'
I'm totally immune to your charms (and your droopy doggie eyes).
But roast some broccoli florets until crackly brown and I'm going to eat until it hurts.
ROASTED BROCCOLI
Serves 1 big piggy (or 2 little piggies)
- 1 head of broccoli, broken into florets and rinsed
- 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil
- salt
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
Give your wet florets a spin in the salad spinner or else lay them, before oiling, onto the baking sheet for a few minutes in the preheating oven to evaporate any moisture.
Add the oil and then tousle them with your hands to give their tree tops shine (but not soul-glo).
Salt without fear and then show them the oven for 15-20 minutes (flipping the florets halfway through).
Eat one-handed, leg in tree pose, leaning against the stove, willing yourself to stop.
