FAQ

by Megan Stocker in Between Meals, Mindful Morsel

What's your favorite color?

It's a child's most burning question when sussing someone out.

When asked of another child, the answer is immediate. It's their trademark. They've spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about it. Choosing it. Promulgating it. Dressing in it. Coloring with it. Bonding over it. Sleeping among it.

And then un-choosing it.

And re-choosing another.

And adding light and dark descriptors.

And then creating a top 5 list to accommodate the changes.

We had a good long stretch with purple. A brief moment with pink. An unconvincing year with green (Mommy's favorite color). And then a not-entirely-fair spell with "rainbow."

Now we're back to purple and our world (or at least all of the purple things in it) seems right again.
